What is acrylic glass printing?

Your photo will be located directly on polished acrylic glass using UV direct printing and curing technology. With this 6 colour printing technology , even subtleties will be clearly presented, and even large colour areas will recognise deep rich colours. The rear side of the high-quality 3 mm thick acrylic glass plate is provided with a special vinyl. This creates the opaque and homogenous white background, which ensures faithful colour reproduction of your photo. High-quality material and modern technology prevent the colours from fading and make the acrylic glass print particularly resistant to light and water, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

What is the print quality?

UV direct printing and curing technology allows for a picture with maximum sharpness and the finest colour reproduction directly on polished acrylic glass. With this 6 colour printing technology, even finer details can be accurately represented, and even large colour areas will recognise deep, rich colours.

Can I also use my acrylic plate outdoors?

The prints can be used outdoors. In outdoor environments, acrylic prints are normally resistant to UV and water for up to 3 years. We also laminate our prints to make our products last for as long as seven years outdoors.

How do I best install acrylic prints?

You can also order appropriate wall brackets for your pictures. We will deliver you a suspension set consisting of a self-adhesive suspension plate with an eye, and 2 self-adhesive rubber spacers. You can locate them at specific places on the rear side of your product. Our suspension is particularly suitable: it is invisible while giving a freely lavish character to the acrylic glass print.

Which digital camera resolution is best suited for acrylic prints?

For a good result, the resolution of your digital camera should not be less than 4 megapixels. With resolutions of 2 megapixels, we can still present your picture in good quality in smaller formats.

What resolution do you require for the file?

On Photo.gift, one thing we don't do is offer you the chance to order a poor-quality acrylic glas print. Your image will be verified during the upload process, and after this you will be shown only the formats that are eligible given the quality of your photo.

Which file format is suitable for the production?

We can process jpg, jpeg, png, gif and tiff formats. Max. process 60 MB data size.

How do I know whether or not my image is suitable for the desired size?

Under Section 2 of your order process ("Select Format") you will find a list containing the print formats that are possible with your motif. If your desired format should not be shown, then the reason is usually one of the 2 that follow. Either the resolution of your image file is not sufficient or the aspect ratio of your image file deviates too much from your desired format.

How important is the aspect ratio in the production of my images?

The aspect ratio describes the length-width ratio of an image. Generally, the usual ratios are the 3:2 format and the 4:3 format. On My-Picture.co.uk, these formats and many more e.g. panoramic formats, quadratic formats and DIN formats are offered. If the aspect ratio of your image deviates from that of your desired motif by too much, then your desired motif will indeed not be available; otherwise, it will be necessary to trim your image file to considerable extent in order for your desired format to be generated. You can obtain the desired format by changing the format of your motif prior to making your order.

How do I edit my pictures?

As far as subsequent editing of your pictures is concerned, it is best to use current software e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Corel Paint, PaintShop Pro or IrfanView. However, during the order process and the configuration, My-Picture.co.uk also offers you the chance to subsequently convert your image (e.g. into black and white, or sepia), under the "Effects" option.

Can I also upload black and white pictures?

Yes, you can also upload images in black and white. And you can of course also subsequently convert a normal colour image e.g. into black and white or sepia (under the "Effects" option) during the order process.

Will my images be edited manually prior to printing?

Please bear in mind that your image files cannot be edited or cut in any way prior to printing. The print files will be generated by the system, in the selected format, immediately after your oder is placed and transmitted to the production server. The respective thumbnail, which you will receive during the format selection, is decisive in the print result; especially given that the motif may be lost as a result of deviating page ratios between template and print format. With this, the system automatically trims the image files (symmetrically) at the required sides. The system will automatically ask you to select all appropriate screen formats after the file is uploaded, depending on the resolution and the page ratio. Please note that unsharp image files and coarse pixeling are not recognised by the system due to artificially created resolutions, and can lead to a bad print result (no refunds can be claimed in such cases).

When is my order valid?

Your order can only be processed once you have, at the end of the order process, given your preferred payment method, accepted our general terms and conditions and clicked "Order now" – you then receive an order confirmation e-mail from us. Only then is your order valid.

I have not received an order confirmation

After successful placement of an order, you automatically receive an order confirmation which is sent to the e-mail address you provided when ordering. This may go to your spam folder, and therefore please check this folder if you cannot see your order confirmation. If necessary, please also check whether the maximum storage volume of your inbox has been exceeded. If, however, you still cannot find your order confirmation (e.g. because of incorrect spelling of your e-mail address in the ordering process), please contact us.

Why is a limited number of formats displayed after I have finished uploading

After you have loaded your photo onto our server, our system checks which formats this photograph is suited to. The resolution and the aspect ratio of your photo are decisive here in order to be able to guarantee results that are qualitatively as high-quality as possible. In order to be able to select larger formats, you need to upload a photograph with a higher resolution and/or another aspect ratio.

The format I want is not offered for a photo with a high resolution

The deciding factor is the photo file's aspect ratio. There are different aspect ratios such as 4:3, 3:2, 2:1 or 1:1. These can be changed manually, for example, in the settings on your digital camera or later manually through editing in an image editing programme such as Adobe Photoshop. A print can only be carried out in the format in which the photo file is available. Otherwise, the image content will be distorted when printed. In order to avoid this, our system only offers you the printing formats that are possible.

After uploading my photo, I receive the notification "Invalid file format"

An invalid file format error message can arise for two reasons:


  1. 1.The file you uploaded is not a "JPG". Please check your photo's file type and, as necessary, convert it to the correct file format with an image editing programme.

  2. 2.The file name of your photo file contains special characters such as full stops, commas, spaces etc. Please redefine your file name before uploading so that the file name does not contain any of these characters.

Can I have more than one example of my photo produced?

You can order an unlimited number of your photos with us, and of course also in different formats. In order to be able to select a different format for the same image file, you need to select the "Upload another image" option from the shopping basket.

How can I order more than one image at the same time?

When you have completed the design of your product and have placed this in the shopping basket, you can return to the order process by clicking the "Upload another image" link. In this way, you can gradually and comfortably order several individual products at once. The format 20x20cm is a special offer for our non-commercial customers and a max. amount of 20 pcs. per cart can be ordered.

Is it still possible to make changes to my order after ordering?

Unfortunately, due to our automated production and shipping processes, we cannot make amendments to your order after the order has been placed.
